mprovement of the Tourism in Bali
Om swastiastu,
Good morning ladies and gentleman, the most respectful juries, the committee of speech contest who I respectfully as well, the participants, and all of the spectators. Firstly, let’s say thanks to God because of the God’s clemency, we can gather in this place, STIE Triatma Mulya Denpasar to do the speech contest programmed.

In this speech contest, from the topic “tourism”, I’ll bring a speech with the title of “Improvement of the Tourism in Bali”. At first, I will explain to all of you what the tourism and the tourist are. Tourism is travel for recreational, leisure, or business purposes, and the tourist is people who travel to stay and enjoy in place during their stay outside their usual environment for more than 24 hours and not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business, and other purpose not related to the exercise of an activity remunerated from within the place visited.

As we know, tourism in Bali is a good prospect for Indonesia. At this time we can feel the impact of tourism. Every day we see foreigners enjoy their holiday in Bali and why they prefer to visit Bali for their vacation. This is because Bali has many interesting places such as beaches, temples, and cultures. Those are Bali’s superiority. Therefore we must keep, protect, and maintain them. By protecting and maintain them, Bali will become as famous as we wish to achieve our goal.

Ladies and gentleman, there are 5 ways to improve the tourism in Bali, which are as follows:

Firstly, we have to keep everlasting our culture and tradition because our culture is the first power of attraction for tourist. And because of the unique culture we have, therefore many people from many different countries come to Bali especially want to learn our culture such as learn traditional cooking, learn traditional dance, music, and also interested in doing blessing temple ceremonies and purification, they enjoy that, it makes we feel proud of our culture, an example when we create “Melasti ceremony” in Padang Galak Beach, and when occur the “Pandanus beats” performance in Tenganan village, many tourist visit that place, and their village can be the one of famous tourist object in Bali, they take many photos for eternal the moment. It proof that the tourism also need the traditional culture for it promotion. The more well people known our culture, the more interest them to visiting Bali.

Secondly, we have to improve safety in Bali too in order for them to feel safe during their visit. In this case, the local government has to be involved. What should we do to improve our place safe, Whoever entering Bali we must check their identity, and other necessary document, We have to make sur, Minimize other people to come to Bali and live in Bali, e that they aren’t involved with terrorist network, Increase security system in every transit area, by installing the CCTV and finding good security guard, The community itself has also conscious to participate to keep the safety around their environment, in order to decrease the crime, The above points can be supported the safety of Bali and to expedite Bali’s tourism. An example in 2002 Bali had bomb attacked, it makes Bali’s tourism slip down. Many tourists return to their own country, it also causing Bali’s economic crisis. Many employees were redundancy. Now we can think how important the safety for our life is.

Thirdly, the cleanliness environment in order for Bali looks more nature and eternality of environment, the tourist will feel comfort if the environment look clean. But, if the environment look dirty and not health, the tourist will uncomfortable. The hotels, bar, and other tourist facilities must be attention them. The eternality, as we know the Government in Bali has created the “Go Green” program. It purposes to decrease the global warming, beside that it also can support the tourism in Bali. The green environment will make Bali become the good tropic area for vacation.

Make more public facilities for tourists use, like toilet, telephone, highway, bridge, bus stop, etc, we must participate to keep their condition in order to the tourist can use that.
To keep the friendliness of Balinese community to make the tourist feel happy and enjoying their vacation. Balinese community famous with their friendliness. We always say “Om Swastiastu” if we meet other people, that shows our behavior. The tourists think it is interested.

It used to development Bali Island. As we know that the tourists are very interested in with our beautiful nature and culture. An example in Denpasar created “Art Center” or “Bali Arts Festival” every year to promotion the traditional product of Bali. Like original weave textile from Tenganan and paintings with various Bali motives. From that event government can get more tax and in that event everyone can enjoy Bali traditional dance, traditional music, and many performances that related with Balinese culture and its development.

That is my reasons, now, we can think about advantages and positive impact to the culture’s development from tourism. Tourism also brings the new cultures that we can combination with our culture if it compatible with our ideal standard and norm. Like Blaring sound excluded by gong instrument estimate to originate from Mainland China has adapted to be a ritual music for hundreds of years. Its presence has enriched the music of Bali and it’s expected to encourage the multicultural spirit and creativity of Balinese artist.

Okay, from my argument above we can conclude that the tourism give us the motivation to keep everlasting of our culture. Because we have different culture, we must learn more about our culture, and from the culture and tourism the government can get more tax. Because of that we as the young generation must have responsibility of our culture. We know many teenagers in Bali have desire to the tourism industry.

Culture is a heritage that can we use to developing Bali’s tourism. Bali is most popular tourist destination in the world, Bali for few years awards as the world best island by “The International Travel Magazines”. However, are still many people who don’t know in depth about the uniqueness of Balinese culture. Life in Bali always related to “Tri Hita Karana” of a tripartite concept that includes the spiritual relationship between human, God, and their environment.

The rapid growth of development in tourism has had a big impact and influences to Bali tradition and lifestyle. Interestingly, Balinese culture is still as what was growing along with the globalization. It is the Balinese civilization what makes the island different from other destination. We also need to increase the clean and safe environment.

At last, I apologize if when I explain my speech there is the words that make you hurt. This is my last argument. I hope what I say in above can brings more advantages in your life. Thank you, and have a nice day.
Om Cantih, Cantih, Cantih, Om.
